Institutions and Collaborations
The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Bonn in cooperation with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences is in charge of the Master's program in Neurosciences. Following you find institutions involved in teaching and collaboration partners.
Medical Faculty/ Medical School (UKB)
The Medical Faculty is one of seven faculties of the University of Bonn and is affiliated with the transdisciplinary research area of Life and Health.
It is committed to outstanding, nationally and internationally visible translational research from basic sciences to patient care, as well as to teaching and training students closely linked to science to become competent and empathetic physicians.
Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences
The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences co-hosts the Master's program.
The Institute of Zoology and the Life & Medical Sciences Institute (LIMES) are involved in teaching our curriculum.
German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE)
The DZNE research covers a wide variety of topics and disciplines, ranging from studies in the laboratory to human clinical studies and population health studies.
In addition to researching the mechanisms of brain diseases, such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and vascular dementia, the scientists in Bonn also dedicate their efforts to the molecular processes underlying spinal cord injuries. They also study aging processes at the microscopic level, the role of the immune system in brain diseases, and how neurons develop, connect, and contribute to memory function.
The Max Planck Institute for Neurobiology of Behavior – caesar
The International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS) for Brain & Behavior is a fully funded graduate program that offers excellent training in neuroethology and neuroscience using cutting-edge technologies. For the next generation of outstanding scientists.
The IMPRS for Brain and Behavior is a collaboration between the MPINB, the University of Bonn, and the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) in Bonn. The program aims to recruit outstanding doctoral students and immerse them in a stimulating environment that provides novel technologies to elucidate the function of brain circuits from molecules to animal behavior.
Bonn International Graduate School of Neuroscience (BIGS)
BIGS Neuroscience is committed to providing a top-level, internationally competitive program in the rapidly developing field of neuroscience. The school focuses on dissecting the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying complex behavior and applying these insights to better understand central nervous system disorders.
NeurotechEU - the European University of Brain and Technology
NeurotechEU is an alliance of nine leading European universities and over 250 partners from industry, academia, and civil society that have set themselves the mission of building an innovative, trans-European network of excellence for brain research and technologies.
